FOOTBALL!!!
Tis the season for FOOTBALL!
So tonight Mizzou lost to OU . . . I was sad for Monte - but come on! They had some crazy dumb errors!! Right KVTURNER? As previously stated, my bro-law, Greg is an OU alumn so I thought for sure we'd have a good OU vs Mizzou party today -- but it is also hunting season so Greg, Cole, & Lane were up in the mountains . . . but in their place we had 3 other OU fans crash our party!! (Please see picture below)
(For those of you who don't know these people) This is Greg's wife, my sister Rachel with their other two kids: Wade & Kendra. They have a lot of OU paraphernalia since Greg's sister Julie use to date a guy who's family owned the Big Red shop (is that right Jenny?) Anyway, they needed a good excuse to raz Uncle Monte a bit.
Here's Kendra cheering for OU and Ainsley is NOT too happy about it.

Here's our good lookin snack table that had a little of our grub on it downstairs.
And here are the Mizzou fans BEFORE their devastating first loss of the year!So that was COLLEGE ball, lets talk a little HIGHSCHOOL ball!
Colon DeGough is doing great this year for Houghson High. We went to watch him play last Friday night when his sister Rikki was here from LA and Carli was here from TX! He had quite a crowd there to watch him. I wish I could give you his stats but I'm afraid I would get them wrong so I'll just say that he played really well and when he caught an interception we made sure to really SHOW OUR SIGN!!
Here is Rikki and Ainsley with the sign we made for Colon: For some reason Ainsley started calling Colon "Lil' Skunky" and we all thought it was so funny we had to make it stick!
Video of Ainsley cheering for Lil Skunky!
Ainsley taking pics again! : ) Rikki & IEven though this is blurry I wanted to get in on here so Lyndsay could see her family! We fed Gavy our candy and then just about our whole bottle of water! : )
Colon's mom, Nan and his sister Carli
Bethany Frie, Ainsley & Jace (Jace is Colon's brother and Beth is Jace's fiancee!!!) : )
Sorry I don't have any pics of COLON!! We didn't go down to the field after the game since Monte had to be up early the next morning to leave for a cross country meet at Half Moon Bay. Maybe next time . . .
OK - I felt bad so I went and found some pics already on my laptop so we could show Colon!
I LOVE this picture of Kendra, Colon and Ainsley - I think it could win some sort of contest - not sure which one - but I still love it! : ) It's just such a "reality" picture I guess - captured that silly moment!

Andy and I went to the OU football game. It was a good game. I think both teams had some dumb errors. Like for one OU needs to learn how to hang on to the football. I like Rachel and her kids OU paraphernalia. We have to make a stop at the Big Red Shop every year for new stuff. :) I enjoyed all your pictures.
Gotta love that wad of gum in the mouth! What fun pictures!
RYC: Yes, we have a fair amount of Asperger's in the family. One of our daughters has an official diagnosis and I suspect that another one could be diagnosed as well as my hubby and certain members of his family. Obviously, they're all doing well with it, for which we're thankful. It is a rather interesting disorder!
Yaaay! What a fun post. I love that you guys get dressed in your team shirts even when you're home! Die hard fans! I had so much fun at the Hughson game...I was bummed though that I didn't get to say bye, we were all talking and I realized you guys had left. ; ( Did you realize that you wrote COLLIN's name as COLON?! haha, do you guys call him that? I thought that was funny! Go HUGHSON!
Great pictures! Looks like fun fun times:coolman::sunny:
What about UK??? We are pretty good this year. Not only is our basketball program awesome but our football is not too shabby this year.
I hate to have take pleasure in something that distresses Monte so, but I thought the OU game was great (what I saw of it). :fun:
I just wanted to let yOU know that in the 4th pic where yOU, Ainsley, and Monte are sitting with yOUr MizzOU shirts on, something glaringly stood OUt to me - on Monte's shirt "OU" is conspicuOUsly seen! In fact, come to think abOUt it... You can't spell missOUri withOUt it!
My brother, Steve, took dad to the OU game since dad is from Missouri. They had a good time!
I hope all are doing well out your way. Tell Monte hello and pass along to him my condolences!
Great pictures! I LOVE football season. I'm the only female I know of that keeps up with what's going on in NCAA and NFL football. My husband is also a big football fan, and I know almost as much about the game and the teams as he does. :fun:
Boomer Sooner! BCS rankings are out....#5!!!! Tell Greg that there is an OU club here in Nashville and we get to go watch the games with some of the our fellow OU grads! It is weired to hear so many in a Nashville restaurant chant...BOOMER....SOONER! You all had a cool looking party.
RYC I was really ready to quit using Delaney's car seat. It had a really complicated buckle that most people could not figure out. Her car seat converted into a booster seat, so that is what I use in the car on a daily basis and yes it does help to have the guide for the seatbelt. If they aren't tall enough the seatbelt will rub their neck without the guide. I also have a regular booster seat that we use in other people's cars because her other one has that LATCH system which is great but is a pain to get out of the car.
Lez found her black and white dress, I think at TJ Maxx. It is a Zoey and Me, it came with a matching doll dress which Delaney loves!
Love all of your pictures...do you guys ever just do nothing? You are always on the go, you probably do more in one month than we do in a whole year!
RYC: Yeah, I read that. I don't really care, it's silly really. There's nothing in the books that has ever hinted at that. But what's really silly to me is that people are all in an uproar about this when the stuff we found out about Dumbledore in the last book is much more disturbing. Anyway, it's not like Rowling is a christian, so it doesn't surprise me. :spinning:
Football is fun! Love the picture of Ainsley and Kendra. Ainsley looks pretty upset at her. Funny! It's good to see OU fans in California!
He is with me so much because he is my sweet cousin. Maybe I shouldn't insult Clint this way, but we also think alike (I think it's the Ayers gene). He comes to TX a lot so I gave him a key to my house which I hope he considers to be a second home.
RYC: I don't know if that is the same car show they went to or not, we didn't see anybody we knew there...but it was HUGE so you never know!
) How's grandpa doing?
RYC: I actually miscarried twins about a month ago. This was my first pregnancy and it has been really tough. Thanks so much for asking. How are things in CA?
His dad and my dad were first cousins. I'm not sure what that makes us, but I do know that we are cousins.
RYC: GC is Garrett's Creek. It's another local congregation about twenty minutes from us. No, I'm not related to Kevin...haha....but we really like him and Bethany. We've had him for several meetings in the past, and he's stayed with us, so I wanted to go and support him at his meeting as much as possible. It was fun, but I was exhausted by the end!
I am going to post recipes for the french toast casserole and pumpkin bread on my site. Several people asked me for the recipes, so that will be the easiest way to give it to everyone. I don't mind you asking me for my recipes....haha. Your Mexican food sounds like it was really yummy. I LOVE Mexican food!....and there's nothing wrong with enchiladas with cream of chicken soup and sour cream. I make those all the time! YUM! (Maybe not exactly authentic, but still yummy!)
Oh, and the gumball machine cake was five layers
I think Brenda was making a chain out of the dum-dum wrappers. It is funny the things that we remember. Some days I can't remember my kids names, but I can remember vividly a party I went to at your house. We played airplane. Your mom had all the girls stand on an ironing board one at a time(we were blindfolded!) and she put a book over our head and told us she had lifted us up really high. So we thought we had touched the ceiling. Then she told us the airplane was crashing and we had to jump out of the airplane. So I jumped really hard, but I was only a couple inches off the floor. It was funny! You all have a good weekend! I like keeping in touch, too!
