Playing catch-up! (Ketchup?)
Well, I've been a slacker on this xanga thing since my laptop is having "router issues" . . . I guess. It did the SAME thing last year - when we got back from our trip it doesn't (didn't) recognize our i-net connection . . . but our NEIGHBORS connections show up!! Go figure! I would greatly appreciate any help from any of you tech savvy people out there! I keep waiting for Michael Howard to give me some advice - especially since he just got that new promotion and all - you'd think he'd be up on stuff like this! ha! (Actually, I have NO idea of what he knows about computers - just know it's HP he works for so he's got to know everything about my HP laptop, right?)
It was great to see the few xanganeers that I did see at the New Years meeting in OKC . . . we were only there Sat morn and Sat night (12/30) and then went to Sunday morning services in Edmond so we could see my xanga-sisters Pam & Jenny! I have so many pics to upload - I'll have to get back to pics of them on another post.
I have a NEW NEICE!! Yeah! My bro Aaron and his wife had a little girl on Jan 16th!
Miss Sydney Ann Cole was only 18 1/2 inches long and 7 lbs, 8 oz.
Proud Daddy!
Proud G'ma & G'pa - they've now EVENED the score: 3 grandsons and 3 granddaughters!

Thankfully, Jill's epidural worked great, when she finally needed it and everything went great! (That is in CONTRAST to MY attempt at an epidural when Ainsley was born. I had been in labor for a good 12 hours and only at a 2 so I told them to BRING ON the epidural . . . they poked me 3 times and then thought they had it in, but it never worked. . . so a few hours later they tried again - poked 3 more times into my spine while I'm TRYING to be still during contractions . . . I didn't care - I was like "Yah, keep poking, I don't care, just get it in!" Well, it STARTED to work on ONE side of my body and that was it so they turned it off!! AHAHAHHGGHGHGHH!! I seriously said, "So what now? Can you just konk me on the head with a shovel or something?!" ha!! So how was your epidural/pain med during labor? Good or not?OK - I could go on forever about that one . . . I think my pics are uploaded so I'll go ahead and get some of those in here.
Alright - since this entry is tipping the scale towards mostly maternal things - I'd better get some fishin pics up for my guy readers!!
This is Monte's 23 lb striped bass!! VERY COOL, huh?! What do you think Kevin? Make you want to go fishin w/my dad again!!??
OK - now on to our trip to Missouri! My great sis-in-law, Dana, did up a GREAT b'day party for Monte, Ainsley and I
Here's a pic of Brent & Dana with the great spread they had!
She had Monte's old Sports Illus magazines hung around - even had a Will Clark one for me!
She had our childhood favorites like Monopoly and Scooby Doo stuff all around
Monopoly $$ all over the cake table . . .

Big League Chewing gum, candy cigarettes, WAX LIPS!!
Their dog Sassy, even got into the b'day spirit!! ha!
Thanks Dana for all of your hard work!!
To say the least, Ainsley had a great time at Uncle Brent & Auntie Dana's playing with Sassy
I'd better close for now so I don't wear out my welcome! I'll try to get more pics on here tomorrow - I've enjoyed seeing everyone else's ? (is that proper
) pics!!

Looks like a bunch of fun, Rebecca! Thanks for posting!
Don't get me started on epidurals! With my first child they had to give me 2, and then they turned it off so I could push harder...with my second, they couldn't get it to take, and they had to give me FOUR before it finally took...and with my third baby, apparently there was so much scar tissue there from all the previous epidurals, they couldn't really get it to work at all. It took like 5 tries to get one in to stay and it didn't help much:mad:
That looks like a really great party! The food looks yummy. That was nice of her to do that for you guys. I love the lips!:goodjob:
Great pictures! I'm so glad Jill finally had that baby!! yikers!! It looks like your mom and dad are thrilled!:sunny:
Wow! What a birthday bash! That was so sweet of Dana - I especially love the lips! They look super cute on Sassy too!heehee
Monte's 23lb bass is awesome!!!!! I'm sure he's not glowing about that catch or anything?!:lol: He should be proud.:sunny:
Congrats to Aaron and Jill! And what a nice party that your sis inlaw put on for you guys..what fun.:fun:
Looks like a fun party. That was nice of Dana to put that all together. She did a great job...Miss Sydney is so cute...About epidurals, mine worked great. But I just had a c-section with the twins so they just took their time and once was all they had to try. So I didn't have a bad experience...RYC: I will ask Andy about your computer problems and see what he has to say.
haha...now that Michael got that promotion, he no longer has to take service calls to fix computers...hahaha
But I'm sure if you called him he'd help you out
Wow, Monte's 23 lb fish is impressive!! That's cool! I only ever catch minnow sized fish.
Congrats on the new neice!
awesome pics of monte's fish! very impressive. bet the testosterone was aflowin that day and that there was a little chest beaten going on. maybe even a little i'm the man verbage . btw-both of my epidurals turned me into a parapeligic. it was great, but thank goodness it was only temporary. re: rich-he did go to santa clara right from the 1st hospital, but then had to go home for a month to heal his broken bones. his last trip was for a few things that he could now do himself since he had his turtle brace off. can't wait to be there in feb!!
Wow, those are some big fish. I'm not much of a fisherman, but I'm impressed. You can tell Monte that no, there wasn't a lot of defense in that game. But we got the W, and that's what's important. Too bad we didn't get to see you all when you were here. Hopefully next time.
That's a mighty big fish. So epidurals can leave scar tissue? Hm. I wonder if that's why my back is still so stiff and occasionally sore. Will that ever go away?
Those are some mighty fun pictures and it was WONDERFUL to see you at NY's...short, but sweet...I hate the picture of me that I took of you and me...but I posted it anyway....I hope you are doing good and figure out your computer problem..it can sure be a real pain to have those kinds of problems...Take care and love ya, Twila
Sounds like a GREAT sis-in-law! I love the picture of you guys with the wax lips.
:heartbeat: welcome miss Sydney Ann... and Congrats to Aaron and Jill! Well done all of you! The birthday pictures are fun! You guys always think of the most creative things...my brain doesnt work that way...I have to see it then go...oh yeah , I think I can do that. Not always as successful as you are! Take care and stay warm! I'll be out there Sat....I hope its warmer than here! haha....~love to you
Love all the pictures. Dana is some kind of party planner and decorator! That is such a cute idea to bring out "old favorites." Ainsley is such a doll. She truly is beautiful. Oh, and that's a horrible epidural story...."Eve, Eve, Eve...sigh." Have a wonderful day! ~love to you
Yaaay to Jill and Aaron!! How exciting...and Monte's bass - WoW! I'm with Julie on the epideral story (Eve)... Looks like you guys had a great time on your vacation. I really enjoyed talking with you at the meeting. I miss seeing you (and Monte and Ainsley) 3 times a week and I REALLY miss our bible study at your house. I'll be out there next month, Lord willing, around the 21st so can't wait to catch up again! Much love
Thanks for sharing your pictures. They are great! Dana just found out that I am on here.
Thanks for all the photos and a Big Congrats to Aaron and Jill on the arrival of the new baby.
i forgot to say that i DID not have an epidural with either one of my girls and i am soooo proud of myself for it because i am such a wimp!!
I went med-free with both of mine. With Alyssa that may have just been stupid stubbornness on my part.
But Ben was a lot easier.
That Ainsley just gets cuter every time I see her! And Aaron's baby girl is a cutie too!
Ouch! Telling stories like that will make all of us contemplating children think again! Love the pics and I'm sorry you're having computer problems, I know that's a bummer for you since you do so much with it! Did Christina's website work? I got some cute, cute paper from there last week. I think it was called "more to adore" all pinks and browns. Talk to you soon
Thanks for the pics and tell Aaron & Jill congrats, Miss Sydney is a doll.:)
RYC: my labor with victoria was total 21 1/2 hours with only about five hours of hard labor and i was not induced but labor was bearable if that is even possible. But comparing the two . i was induced with sophia and labor was 2 1/2 hours and so much more painful. and she continues to be a pain to this day!! just kidding!!
by the way this is jennifer writing from my mom's computer. if you didn't tell that already by the simple fact she did not give birth to to victoria and sophia HAHA!!
