OK - QUICKLY, I want to post these pics before I'm off to bed so I can get up early in the morning and drive up to the mountains and play in the snow!!

Twilight Background by Jacob Blacks Lil' WolfGirl =D.

Went to see Twilight with Melissa & Lacey a couple of weeks ago. . . LOVED comparing the book to the movie . . .

I'm NOT a "reader" but I was looking for an audiobook to listen to on our MANY, MANY hours of driving back to OK, MO, TX . . .  so after Melissa and my cousin Jessica both suggested I read Twilight . . . I decided to listen to 12 hours of that book on the way back home.  Remember, I'm not use to reading anything except Biology, The Bible, The Power of a Positive Mom, etc - so this was a new experience for me.  I think it really did help the time go by faster as we drove . . . but I was pretty tired of hearing adjective after adjective being read at me in describing HOW totally irresistible Edward was!!  lol!!!  : )  I was like, OK!  I've got it already!!

(Don't mind my crazy hair!! lol!)

    Twilight 00001

Lacey & Melissa showing how many times they had seen Twilight

    Twilight 00004

My favorite part of the whole thing was being able to compare the movie to the book . . . remember, I'm NOT a "reader" so this is a first for me!  I think I might try it again with another movie!  I'm open for suggestions!  : )

    Twilight 00003

So my favorite part of the book was where Bella and Edward touch for the first time in the meadow and the movie didn't EVEN portray that at all!!  What do you think?  Twilight Movie Screen Shot 9 by hvyilnr.

I also thought the bases on the "baseball field" should have been way further apart . . .

I also thought James was WAY CREEPIER in the book that he was portrayed in the movie - almost like Jack Nickleson in Silence of the Lamb of something . . .

Melissa's main peev is that the movie made it look like Edward came SUPER close to losing control when sucking Bellas blood to keep her from turning  - she feels like his true character loved Bella so much that it wasn't that hard for him  . . . is that right Mel??

OK - this was also one of my FAVE parts!!!

    OK - lets discuss amongst ourselves . . .   : )

  • Becca, great pictures.  I guess I should finally give in and read/watch Twilight as well.  The next book/movie you should try is Marley and Me.  The book made me laugh out loud, and cry.  Especially if you ever had a dog of your own.  Totally hilarious.  While the movie wasn't as good (they never are), it was still fun to watch.  Also, Jack did not play in Silence of the Lambs, it was Anthony Hopkins.  I am still unsure whether he is a good guy or bad guy in real life because he was so creepy in that movie!

  • Okay, Jamie and I went and saw the movie last night for the 5th time. haha  I love it!  The book is definitely better, but the movie is really good too, I think.  I have read all the books.  You should read them.  (Don't listen!  Read!!  It's just not the same!)  They're already making the second movie, New Moon, so you should read the book before you see it.  The movie will be out in November!

  • Okay, I have to admit that I haven't read the book but I think that Edwards struggle to remain in control while sucking Bella's blood seemed to make sense. Because no matter how much you love someone...if you're wired a certain way, it would be hard to overcome that. I know that Michael loves me but because he, as a man, is wired the way he is, sometimes he struggles to show it. I don't think that that means that he doesn't love me, the fact that he feels the drive to struggle at all, says a lot about the kind of man he is and how much he loves me.

But like I said, I haven't read the book, so what do I know?! haha

  • Awesome pics!  I don't need to read the book, though.  'Cause Mel has totally explained it in detail to me!  Ha!

  • hmmm...am I the only one who hasn't read this book or seen the movie? :lookaround:

  • I've read all the books, and now Damian is reading them. He's actually almost done. We saw the movie and thought it was pretty good, but not as good as the books. Although I grew tired of the books by the last one. Damian's just devouring them like he's starving! lol We're going to see the movie again friday night as part of our anniversary celebration. :o )

As for other books to read to compare to movies...um, hello. Harry Potter!!! lol

  • Great pictures!  I have read all the book in the saga and have seen the movie.  I like the book better than the movie.

  • O.K. a little late, but I loved the movie!!!! I am on book 4 Breaking Dawn. But I do think I like the book better. I can't wait for the next movie to come out. Also the DVD is going to be out soon. YES!!!!

  • @ItIsAWonderfulLife -

I haven't seen or read them either! Alicia has been telling me I need to, but I am just not responsible with books. I become completely addicted and neglect ALL else. Plus I wasn't sure about the whole vampire thing....but I am in love with the HP books and even dream in wizard sometimes, so I guess I shouldn't knock it until I do read at least one!
