So our 6th Annual Rook Tourney was a blast as usual! I laughed and laughed - a lot of it was thanks to ANDY!
OK, and Uncle Myron too.We drew for partners again this year so that is always fun to see who you're going to get to try to win the whole tournament with! Monte goes to great lengths and pains to do up a tournament bracket that works for the number of players we have: here is the product of all of his hard work this year.
This was most of the gnarly crew that hadn't already left anyway . . .
The BIGGEST LOSER team was my friend Kriste from work and my sis-law Jill (who is preg-o)
Their prize was a BIG pen or pencil with note cards that said "THINGS TO DO" and I wrote in: "Learn how to play Rook BETTER!" lol!!
Kriste's husband, Randy and Muriel were the 2008 CHAMPS!!! They had never met before! Goes to show that it is just pure TALENT that gets you to the top! ha! They received goodies along w/a Starbuck's gift card : ) The Championship game was over @ 1 am!
My nephew Cole and I were partners. This is the scorecard of how bad we got beat by the champs!!
MAYBE if Cole wasn't TEXTING while we were trying to play - we might have done better!?!!? 
Well, we are in Missouri now and I hope to be seeing a lot of you at the OKC NY Meeting soon! Maybe I will have time this week to get some more blogging done w/my pics. But FIRST we will be going to Branson tomorrow to hopefully get in some good SHOPPING!!!
Now we're off to the 7:30 services at Field Stone on Sunday night!!! Can you believe that?? They STILL have 7:30 Sunday night services!! : )

Have fun shopping in Branson!! I wish I was there. =) It is around 17 here.
Be sure and get there early. The outlets open at 9. Tiffany and I went a week ago on Friday and again on Saturday. There were lots of cars and people everywhere. At least during the week it shouldn't be too bad. It will probably be very very cold. Stay warm!
Well, at MY house, it's sunny and 54 degrees. And that's why we live in California! :sunny:

This post has reminded me of how much I despise ROOK... ha ha.. at least when it is serious.. I'm voting for the Bunco tourney or maybe even the Uno championships... almost anything is better than rook.
Have fun in the wacky temps... I can barely stand it here in the 50's!!! I miss summer.
@Kitty_Pat - Well, it was WET and cold when we were there so the crowds weren't bad at all!! lol!

RYC: Aunt Kay-Kay is Kaylie Bailey (Cavins) who is married to Trace Bailey. She isn't really an aunt but we call her that anyways! Lucas is actually married to Cody's sister, Annie.
@hayhay85- Oh my goodness!! I had NO IDEA Annie married Lucas!! How cool is that!?!?! :love: How long have they been married?
@bring_me_daisies - You are soo funny!! You don't despise Rook! We are just going to have you guys over EVERY week until you get it down and then we'll have ANOTHER Rook tourney just for you!! :love: Whatever tournament you want to have - we will host - just let me know! :goodjob:

@mobecca - ha ha ha... well we'll see if it can be NON competitive learning.. hee hee... idk.. I'm just NOT good at strategy games!!! yuck.
