Yosemite hike to Vernal & Nevada Fall
Well, we are leaving for Yosemite again on Sunday night to make the BIG HIKE to HALF DOME Monday morning – so I thought I’d better post my pics of our “little hike” to Vernal & Nevada Fall now so it won’t be totally overshadowed by Half Dome!
As you can see by the dates on the pics, we just went a few weeks ago. Just Monte and I. It was great bonding time for us since we’re so use to having SOMEONE around, if it’s not Ainsley it’s some of his track team or my other family.

We got PRETTY WET on this part of the trail, but from the sounds of things the water has already really died down.
MY MOM (64) went up a couple of days ago w/Becky & Ashley and Kevin Presley and they said they hardly got any drops so I’m REALLY glad we went when we did cuz I love to be wet!

So I guess that’s all until next time. . . just to let you know I just MIGHT not be able to make it ALL the way to the top of the DOME, (unlike my turbo-hiker friend Ashley!) since I have just a little fear of heights and well . . . you know . . . . (“mind over matter” – RIGHT?!?!) Who WOULDN’T be a LITTLE afraid of this?!PRAY FOR ME!!!

Great pictures!! Andy and I keep talking about going to Yosemite sometime. After seeing these pictures it makes me want to go even more.

Beautiful pictures. I am so amazed at your hiking skills. I KNOW I would never make it! ha. Keep the pretty pictures coming. Oh, and where did you get that cute hiking outfit…and that skirt? Love ‘em.

@GramBee - Oh man!! I will have to post pics soon! Unfortunately, my phone was about dead so I was relying on Jill’s phone to get service when we at Half Dome and she didn’t have any so I assumed I didn’t. But when we finally got back down to Nevada again I went ahead and tried w/my Verizon and I DID get service so that’s when I called my mom but my phone was dying and we were headed out so I didn’t get a chance to call you like I said I would! Sorry
Thanks for letting me use your stuff! I LOVED the poles! I think if I went again though I would want some even STICKIER gloves since I was using ALL ARM on most of the way up the cables! WHEW!! That was quite scary at times! I will post about it – but I had heard and read so much about the sub dome being the hardest part that I guess I just thought the cables was going to be physically easy (just a mind over matter thing) so when my shaky arms were tired of pulling myself up that’s when I got a little worried. When Jill backed out I told her I would probably meet her back down there soon – but thank GOD I was able to get my head back on straight and just suck it up and do it! One 2 x 4 at a time! I froze big chunks of ice in plastic glasses and put those in your camelback so that was nice to have pretty cold water most of the way up. We also enjoyed some Tang, since Rick suggested it 
@dual_mom - YES! You guys should come out and stay with us and we will be happy to take you to Yosemite!!!:love:
@mobecca - OK~ I prayed. You made it to the TOP! Now, I want some pics, and I hear there is a video worth a public broadcast!! Tell Monte we are on for Aug. 18. I have two nights reservations (Sunday and Monday) the 16th is a full moon too!!
